As a result, they are paying closer attention to their electricity usage. Since 2016, Iberdrola has been developing a smart assistant to help households maximize their electricity savings.
Solution
The Smart Advanced Assistant, created by Iberdrola's Middle Eastern innovation center, utilizes the AWS cloud platform and combines multiple artificial intelligence services. It features a user-friendly interface that allows users to connect and control various electrical devices in their homes. In addition to providing general information, the assistant offers advanced recommendations to empower customers to manage their energy consumption and play an active role in the energy transition.
Outcome
Built using AWS services, the Advanced Smart Assistant offers a wide range of functionalities aimed at reducing users' carbon footprint. For example, it automatically optimizes the charging of electric vehicle batteries to minimize energy costs. It also helps reduce air cooling consumption by leveraging the thermal properties of the household. Furthermore, if the user has solar panels, the assistant intelligently manages household consumption by scheduling non-urgent tasks during periods of higher green energy production, thereby improving overall energy efficiency.
