Treatment and rehabilitation of children

The Bcаuse Foundation's Fund for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Children supports mainly children in need of permanent rehabilitation and the purchase of aids.

In 2020, the parents of children suffering from cerebral palsy, epilepsy, specific disorders of motor function, spina bifida with hydrocephalus, childhood autism, mental retardation, expressive speech disorder turned to the fund for financial support.

The clinical path for rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy covers 10 days of procedures (2 weeks without Saturday and Sunday).

Decisions on the allocation of funds from the Fund are taken by a committee that meets two to four times a year. The funds are transferred directly to rehabilitation centers and medical centers.

For the past 10 years, Irena, a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, has been committed to helping children and people with special needs. Through the method of horse-assisted therapy, with the help of the horse Arnie and the dog Leda, riding in nature, children participate in various activities in the form of games that stimulate them to cope with their physical, behavioral, sensory, psycho-emotional and social challenges.

In 2020 he started working with his sister Petya, who is a child and adolescent psychologist and homeopath. Currently, Irena and Petya work with over 70 children with various special needs.

In 2021, Irena and Petya were inspired to expand their activities by founding the association "Together we can" for the benefit of society. They are also moving to a new place - a house in Varna with a yard and premises, which are starting to be transformed into a combined salt/sensory room and an occupational therapy room.

Irena and Petya have so far invested a total of BGN 5,000 for the overhaul of the premises and BGN 2,000 to buy Otto and Lily, but the amounts needed for the complete equipment of the premises are unaffordable for their savings and budget.

Negligence, abuse, harassment, forced begging and other forms of violence are among the reasons for placing children in an orphanage. Children are mainly placed in crises - when they are abandoned, urgently removed from the family environment, or moved from medical and social care homes.
