What did you like most about your role?
The thing I liked the most about my role is that it was challenging and dynamic. Working on various and different engagements, while simultaneously being presented new challenges and learning opportunities on a daily basis. These challenges have forced me to learn at a rapid pace and I enjoyed the gratification of having figured out the answer to new problems.

What attracted you to Deloitte?
The culture and working environment of my local office attracted me to Deloitte.

Describe your role while serving at Deloitte
My role primarily included the execution of audit planning and testing procedures; including the analysis of client accounts, support and overall performance. My day to day role also included managing my assigned audit engagements through discussions with clients, supervision of junior staff and internal team meetings.

What else were you involved with during your tenure at Deloitte?
Outside of my engagement work I was part of the internal social committee where I planned and executed social events to promote unity and comradery amongst the staff, while learning more about each other in a fun environment. I also helped to organize and direct an internal staff forum where the staff body came together to give suggestions to improve the local office and our quality of work on the whole. I enjoyed working with other staff members to improve our office in an informal setting.

How did Deloitte contribute towards your long term career goals?
Deloitte’s role in my longer term career goals helped me obtain a high level of proficiency in overall audit and accounting and also helped me to identify a specific area of accounting for specialization in my future career path.

What did you enjoy most?
Learning how to apply the accounting knowledge I obtained, while at the same time gaining an insight into the operations of different businesses across a wide variety of industries! I also really enjoyed working one-on-one with experienced managers and partners on my engagements. I like that they helped to expand my thought process and showed me how to perform at a higher level
