HFX office joins Deloitte’s national journey to strengthen connections and inspire innovation.

Deloitte redefines work with a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive workplace in new Halifax office.

Halifax, November 8, 2021 – Deloitte Canada is proud to officially announce the opening of its office in the centre of Halifax’s growing waterfront district and leader in sustainable development, the Queen’s Marque. Deloitte’s newest office embodies the workplace transformation that redefines how employees work and collaborate, while demonstrating Deloitte’s pledge to make positive, measurable climate choices.

The new office is the latest addition to Deloitte’s national workplace strategy that emphasizes flexibility and choice around how people work best while inspiring innovative ways of thinking—part of Deloitte’s ‘Next Normal’ (N2) approach. This unique workplace strengthens connections, while reflecting Deloitte’s firm commitment toward inclusion by removing physical barriers and using design and technology to provide more collaborative and productive workspaces.

This office, which serves clients across the Atlantic region and beyond, is home to approximately over 200 partners and practitioners.

“At Deloitte, we strive to empower our people and clients to find the balance that works for them and aim to match our workplaces to their diverse, collective needs,” says Sheri Penner, Deloitte’s Managing Partner for Atlantic Canada. “The space is created on the foundation of innovation and building for the future. The people who work in this office are proud to grow in Atlantic Canada and work with companies who have chosen to develop our region into a prosperous place to live.”

Deloitte’s N2 approach is an evolvement of its ‘workplace of the future’ strategy. With a focus on collaborative work, Deloitte is now implementing a firm-wide hybrid model, an innovative approach that redefines how and where people work. Those who choose to work from Deloitte’s office in Halifax will be greeted by a suite of adjustable workstations, flexible spaces for collaboration and conversation, a variety of meeting rooms, a comfortable café, and a new terrace space.

The office is located at 1741 Water St., housed in the Queen’s Marque, one of the newest additions to the Halifax downtown core, designed with a focus on sustainability.

Drawing on the neighbouring Atlantic Ocean and Halifax Harbour, the building’s structure and energy system are cooled by seawater circulated through them. This natural coolant and other sustainability features facilitate a 50 per cent reduction in the carbon footprints of tenants, and the building itself.

The building’s sustainability features align closely with WorldClimate, Deloitte’s strategy designed to drive responsible climate choices within the organization.

“Our WorldClimate program has become a paramount focus for us at Deloitte,” says Penner, who serves as Executive Lead for WorldClimate at Deloitte Canada. “We’re proud to have our Halifax office align so closely with our firm’s commitments and values to create a more sustainable, responsible and lasting future.”
