Deloitte significantly strengthens Audit team

Deloitte has announced that 7 new audit partners and directors have joined its Swiss business.

Emel Can is an Audit partner in Zurich, and a specialist for insurance audit and advisory. She has more than 15 years of experience working with insurance companies in Switzerland, US and Türkiye, primarily as an auditor but also assisting them in various challenges such as control framework implementations, risk management and accounting and auditing related matters.

Stuart Diack is an audit partner in Zurich with a cross-service line leadership role in quality and risk management. Stuart has deep experience of quality and risk matters as well as the changing regulatory environments across Europe and the world. Stuart is an audit professional by trade, was formerly a lead public policy, quality and risk partner in the audit practice of Deloitte UK and has nearly 20 years’ professional experience.

Jamie Schmidt is an audit partner in Zurich. Jamie has been a partner within the Deloitte network for over 12 years including 6 years as leader of the audit and assurance practice in New Zealand. This role enabled him to work across a variety of industries and on a number of key engagements, advisory services to major corporates and multinational groups including a due diligence assignment resulting in the acquisition of a Swiss listed entity.

Randy Wilson is an advisory partner in Geneva, leading the commodity trading and risk management advisory practice in Switzerland. Randy has more than 25 years experience in helping energy and commodity trading companies improve processes and enhance systems. His experience includes commodity trading strategy, risk management, systems implementation, credit, valuation and financial reporting.

Dr. Christine Csibi is an audit director in the manufacturing sector. Christine has more than 10 years’ experience in providing assurance and advisory services to industrial companies, especially acting in the construction business. She also has a specific focus on developing audit best practices and methodologies and therefore will take a leading role in the ongoing evolution of Deloitte’s audit service offering.

Tomas Hundegger is an audit director, joining the Finance, Risk and Regulatory team in Zurich. Tomas has longstanding experience in the financial service industry where he led a number of Finance, Risk, Regulatory and operational excellence programs. He possesses a deep financial services line function knowhow combined with financial services advisory experience across both banking and insurance.

Ralph Odermatt is an audit technical director, joining the financial services practice in Zurich. Ralph has more than 30 years of experience in the banking industry and worked for two major global banks where he held several senior positions representing the banks in various international and Swiss industry, regulatory and accounting standard setting committees.
