Global Leader, Consumer & Industrial Products Senior Partner, Deloitte United States (Deloitte LLP)
Tim Hanley is the Global Leader, Global Consumer & Industrial Products industry group of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (Deloitte Global) and a senior partner with Deloitte United States (Deloitte LLP).
In his global industry leadership role, Tim directs strategic initiatives and investments to grow Deloitte member firm market share within the Global Consumer & Industrial Products sectors, which include automotive, aerospace and defense, consumer products, diversified services, industrial products and services, process industries (chemicals, metals and paper), retail, wholesale and distribution, and the travel, hospitality and leisure. These investments are designed to build Deloitte brand eminence, strengthen global industry networks, develop industry talent, and embed industry knowledge in the services delivered to clients across the manufacturing sectors.
During his distinguished 36-year career in professional services, Tim has advised several multinational clients, especially in the chemicals, industrial products and services, and consumer products sectors. Deloitte member firms provide professional services to 75 percent of the manufacturing industry companies and 87 percent of the consumer business companies on the Fortune Global 500®. Tim currently serves as the global lead client service partner or an advisory partner on a number of Fortune Global 500 manufacturing companies. The majority of his clients are large global organizations with significant international operations. He has extensive experience leading teams serving all business aspects, including consulting with top management regarding organizational financial strategy development and execution, acquisitions, and market development.
The Global Consumer & Industrial Products industry group represents over $10 billion in revenues for Deloitte worldwide. Previously, Tim had served as the firm’s Global Leader, Manufacturing. He currently leads the Global Industrial Products & Services sector and was formerly the Global Leader for the Chemical sector. In addition, he also led the Process and Industrial Products sector industry program for Deloitte U.S. (Deloitte LLP).
Prior to joining Deloitte in 2002, Tim spent 23 years with Arthur Andersen as an audit partner, advancing to positions managing the Milwaukee audit division and, subsequently, the entire Milwaukee Andersen practice.
Tim has been a formal speaker and presenter to many industry organizations and international venues, including Samsung Economic Research Institute (Korea), POSCO Research Institute(POSRI) (Korea); the Federation of Indian Commerce and Industry (India), the Madras Management Association (India), the Advanced Manufacturing Summit (Australia); the Australian Industry Group (Australia), the U.S. China Chamber of Commerce (China), European Petrochemical Association (EPCA), Manufacturing Indaba (South Africa); Bruges European Business Conference (Belgium), the Managing Automation Progressive Manufacturing Summit (U.S.), the National Directors Institute (U.S.), Northwestern University’s Masters of Manufacturing program (U.S.), The Management Association (U.S.), and the Milwaukee Development Corporation (U.S.).
An active leader in his local community, Tim currently serves in the following professional and civic organizations: Board Member of the National Association of Manufacturers, Board of Trustees for the Milwaukee County Council of Boy Scouts, Chairman of the Board of the Waukesha Memorial Hospital Foundation, Board Member of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Catholic School Commission, incoming Chairman of the Board of the Partners Advancing Values in Education (PAVE), Board Member of Families International, and the Dean’s Council of Excellence for the for the Marquette University College of Business.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Marquette University in the U.S. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
