ESG IN ACTION 2023

About the contest

ESG in action is a recognition awarded by Deloitte Baltics for the best sustainability and integrated reports in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. It aims at identifying and rewarding excellence in corporate non-financial and integrated reporting in the Baltics and promoting sustainability as the foundation for business success.

The following nominations were available for participation:

• The Best Sustainability Report in the Baltics
• The Best Integrated Report in the Baltics

ESG in action constitutes an excellent opportunity to present your sustainable practice and ways of consciously and actively managing your firm's economic, social, and environmental impacts. Sustainability has been an integral part of many firms' operations for a long time. Coupled closely with a company's strategy, it brings success and an improved financial position to the company in the long run. ESG in action aims to encourage, recognize, and promote firms already providing sustainability reports and inspiring others to follow.

ESG in Action 2023 Contest Winners

In the category “Best Sustainability Report” winner on the Baltic level is “SCHWENK Latvija” and the best report in Lithuania going to “Vilniaus pakuotė”. In category “Best Integrated Report” Baltic level winner is “Ignitis grupė” and the best report in Latvia going to “Latvenergo”.

Winning reports demonstrate great level of detail, prioritization of material ESG topics, measurable results and priorities that include targets, activities, and progress over time. Jury considered if the report is being improved year after year, if goals set are realistic and actions and business practice of the company matches their goals. Setting defined goals like Science Based Targets of “Ignitis grupė” shows true dedication to data driven decision making and strategic commitment to sustainable business practice. Report of “SCHWENK Latvija” is a great example for managing to pack great level of detail, substance and value that new extensive ESRS standard requires not compromising the user-friendly format.
