The Digital Consumer Trends Survey is a global report measuring consumer preferences and habits around digital products and services. Spanning over a decade, our research in this field has tracked consumer behaviours across the history of smart devices - from the early adoption of smart phones through to the growth of smart speakers and the introduction of 5G.

Over the past 13 years, the Digital Consumer Trends Survey has become firmly established within the technology, media and telecoms industry as a measure of digital consumer preferences and behavioural changes. The Global 2022 data set includes approximately 36,150 respondents across 21 countries and 4 continents.

This Dutch edition will analyze the data collected for the Netherlands.

Blog 1 - Dutch consumers struggle to embrace sustainability and well-being

Blog 2 - Key consumer digital services face lackluster demand

Several major digital consumer sectors are experiencing challenges, according to Deloitte’s Digital Consumer Trends Survey.  After a spike in demand during the Covid-19 pandemic, the content streaming market has turned challenging. In the household broadband sector, mobile Internet is gaining ground on fixed broadband, but 5G has yet to capture most Dutch consumers’ imagination. In the smartphone market, Apple and Samsung remain out in front, while Huawei has fallen back.

Blog 3 -What do consumers think of the metaverse, virtual finance and gaming?

Emerging technologies, such as the metaverse, virtual reality, cryptocurrencies and NFTs, could have a major impact on consumer lifestyles. The devices and systems that underpin these technologies have the potential to transform the way consumers live and interact with the world and each other. But are Dutch consumers actually comfortable with these new concepts?
