Despite missing its GDP growth target in 2014, the Philippines remains a bright spot in the Asia Pacific region and is expected to continue outpacing its neighbors into 2016. But significant challenges such as poor infrastructure and unreliable power supply continue to hound the country. An impending presidential election also has the business community wondering if the initiatives and reforms that took shape under the Aquino administration and inspired investor confidence will continue into the next six years.
