Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) industry in Turkey reached to TL 61,6 Billion with a 11,3% growth in 2013, while the export operations reached to TL 1,3 Billion.
According to the study by Deloitte for TÜBISAD (Türkiye Bilişim Sanayicileri Derneği), while the growth in the Turkish Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) industry in 2012 was TL 52,7 Billion, it reached to TL 61,6 Billion in 2013. The sector generates employment to 100.500 people. In terms of sub industries, Information Technologies generates TL 17,9 Billion and Communication Technologies generates TL 43,7 Billion.
According to the survey report, the most significant growth factor is indicated as R&D investments and innovation by 64%, whereas the major challenge is indicated as qualified manpower deficit by 61%.
This study shows that surveyed companies expect a growth between 11%-15% in 2014 and they also indicate that R&D investments and innovation would be the major growth.
The report also includes information regarding the total export figures and major exporting countries as well as total incentive figures and types of incentives.
