Samir is a Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory principal in the Cyber Risk market offering in Deloitte & Touche LLP. He focuses on helping organizations rapidly identify unauthorized or anomalous activity in their IT environments. Samir has very deep experience in the area of Rare Events Modeling (REM), which is a practice area dedicated to helping clients generate value from their data through the detection of faint signals. He has led REM engagements in a number of domains, including cyber, financial crimes, fraud detection and safety and quality, in both the commercial and public sectors.
Over the past several years, he has led several important strategic firm initiatives, including the acquisition of a large electronic discovery business, technology vendor alliances, and scaling new market solutions. Beginning his career as a software developer in the Silicon Valley, he brings that same sense of entrepreneurship with advanced technologies into his practice each day.
