Created in 2000, Inspiring Women is a sustained and strategic approach to advancing women based on:
- An inclusive culture based on value and respect
- Strengthening our leadership by investing in our female talent through talent identification, development, sponsorship and career opportunities
- Removing the structural and societal barriers which limit women’s progression such as domestic and family abuse
Deloitte Australia has been recognised thirteen consecutive times as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (formerly the Equal Opportunity in the Workplace Agency).
Driven by the leadership of the firm
Inspiring Women is led by National Diversity and Inclusion Lead Partner, Margaret Dreyer – a former AFR Westpac 100 Women of Influence and Deloitte Board Member – and Inspiring Women Lead Partner, Serg Duchini, Senior Tax Partner and Deloitte Board Member.
Along with Deloitte Australia CEO, Cindy Hook – Australia’s first Big Four female CEO - Deloitte’s leadership team has been very clear that Inspiring Women is not about experimenting with the latest fad, but recognising that gender equality requires a long term view and commitment to remain focussed on driving change.
Inspiring Women benefits all employees, including men, as it drives change in the workforce. Unless we have men, as well as women, involved as Inspiring Women champions we will not achieve what we set out to achieve.
