2018 Recognition and Awards

Xero Awards 2018

Deloitte Private was named the inaugural National Partner of the Year at XeroCon 2018. Deloitte Private was chosen for the significant value it has added to clients and employees across Australia and its championing of the use of Xero and its cloud technology over the last year.

Australian HR Awards 2018

We aim to make Deloitte not only a great place to work but a place to be your best self and are recognised as the Employer of Choice in the Australian HR Awards 2018 (>1000 Employees).

2018 AMY Awards – Grand Prix

The AMY Awards reward digital work that places consumers at the heart of the strategy and design. Recognised as hard to win and only for serious digital businesses, the AMY awards attract the best digital thinking from around the country. The Grand Prix is the best entry submission across all 23 categories and criteria.

Deloitte’s pioneering voice-activated hospital bedside assistant, DeloitteASSIST won the top Grand Prix award and was also awarded Trailblazing Product of the year.

AFR Most Innovative Companies

Deloitte ranked 10 on the 2018 AFR Most Innovative Companies list, making it two years in a row the firm has made the top ten, the only professional services firm to do so.

The Most Innovative Companies awards, which received over 1,000 entries, called out DeloitteASSIST as an example of world-class innovation. DeloitteASSIST is a voice-activated hospital bedside assistant, created by Deloitte using AI and natural language processing, to provide the next generation in hospital care. It provides patients with better access to nursing care, improves care responsiveness and supports better planning of staff workloads.

Cannes Lions

Deloitte is the first professional services firm to be recognised for innovation and creativity on this global stage. In the Creative Data Lions category, Deloitte won two awards in recognition of our recent Great Barrier Reef report, At What Price? The economic, social and icon value of the Great Barrier Reef for Data Storytelling – Silver Award and Creative Data Collection and Research – Bronze Award. This is a great reflection of what we can achieve when we work across teams to break new ground for our clients.

Linked In – Top 25 Companies 2018 Australia

The companies on this list, now in its third year, represent the most sought-after employers — those that have figured out how to attract top talent and then keep them. The Top Companies list is the only ranking of its kind to be based entirely on the actions of users. In 2018 Deloitte Australia was ranked third.

The Good Design Awards

The Good Design Awards program is one of the oldest and most prestigious international design awards programs in the world and represents the diverse spectrum of design with 10 specific Design Disciplines, spanning 28 Categories. Deloitte Digital Australia won three awards in the Interface and Design Strategy categories for work completed for AMP Financial Services, the Learning Academy for Siam Commercial Bank and the Onboard Room.

Australian Workplace Equity Index

The AWEI stands as the definitive national benchmark on LGBTI workplace inclusion and comprises the largest and only national employee survey designed to gauge the overall impact of inclusion initiatives on organisational culture as well as identifying and non-identifying employees. The Index drives best practice in Australia and sets a comparative benchmark for Australian employers across all sectors. In 2018 Deloitte was awarded Gold Employer status – from its Bronze status in 2017 – with the AWEI Award for Diversity & Inclusion.

Forecast Accuracy Award

The Forecast Accuracy Award recognises the achievements of a select group of expert country economic forecasters who have most accurately predicted the final outturns of GDP growth and Consumer Price Inflation in their targeted economies for the year 2017. In 2018 Deloitte Access Economics has been recognised – again! – for forecast accuracy with Consensus Economics*, the world's leading economic survey organisation, awarding the Macroeconomic Policy and Forecasting team with the 2017 Forecast Accuracy Award. This is the second time in five years the team has won the award!

Australian Business Award for Community Contribution

Deloitte has been recognised as an ABA100 Winner for Community Contribution in The Australian Business Awards 2017 and 2018.

In 2017, Deloitte was awarded for our Impact Day initiative. This award recognises the positive impact and long term benefits we make in our community. Our 2016 Impact Day saw 3,408 Deloitte people take part in 573 events. We made a total contribution to our communities of over 25,500 hours, with a total dollar value of $4.2 million across general, skilled and pro bono work.

In 2018, Deloitte was recognised for our outstanding pro bono program. This underscores our clear market leadership in pro bono. In 2017, we delivered $9.04 million and 77,197 hours in pro bono or low bono services, making the firm one of the leading providers of pro bono work in Australia.

Workplace Gender Equality Employer of Choice

Deloitte has achieved Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Employer of Choice for Women citation for 15 years running (2003 – 2018).

Oxfam Trailwalker Highest Corporate Fundraiser

Deloitte consistently wins the highest corporate fundraiser award – 2017 Melbourne and Sydney; 2018 Melbourne and Brisbane.  Melbourne set a new fundraising record nationally in 2018. The funds raised for Oxfam help to fight poverty and make a significant difference to the lives of others.

2017 Recognition and Awards

Deloitte recognised as one of Australia’s Most Innovative Companies

Deloitte ranked sixth on the Australian Financial Review’s Most Innovative Companies list in 2017, jumping from 18 in 2016 and 30 in 2015. This quantum leap earned us recognition as Australia and New Zealand’s ‘most improved’ innovative company.


Diversity & Inclusion

Deloitte CEO wins top LGBTI inclusion award

The 2017 Pride in Diversity Awards recognised Deloitte CEO, Cindy Hook, for her contribution to promoting visible LGBTI role models to the LGBTI community within Deloitte and nationally. 

Our Outstanding 50 LGBTI Leaders initiative with AFR BOSS - promoting LGBTI role models – saw Deloitte win the Australian HR Institute (AHRI) Michael Kirby LGBTI Inclusion Award.

Our Aspiring Women program to recognise and fast-track female talent received the Australian HR Institute (AHRI) Dame Quentin Bryce AD CVO Gender Equity In the Workplace Award.


Deloitte wins top organisational psychology award for inclusive leadership

Deloitte was recognised by the Australian Psychological Society’s Workplace Excellence Awards, for identifying inclusive leadership as a new capability in effective leadership and for developing and building an inclusive leadership assessment (ILA) tool.

Apollo Project Awards 2017

Deloitte received the Apollo Project Award in Organisational Category, for Inclusive Leadership Assessment Tool in 2017.
