In a challenging professional services market, Deloitte also announced national annual revenues across its 16 Australian offices of $1.162B for the year ending 31 May 2014, up by 6.5% per cent on its revenues from the previous year.
The Perth appointments, which take effect on 1 July 2014, include
- Jennifer Morris (Consulting Human Capital)
- Alan Marshall (Consulting Enterprise Information Management )
- Thomas Hodgkins (Deloitte Private)
- Matthew Yearsley (Deloitte Private Motor Industry)
- Omesh Motiwalla (Financial Advisory Services)
- Steve Andreazza (Tax R&D).
In addition, Philip Teale has transferred from the Adelaide practice to build on Deloitte’s Accounting Advisory and Finance Transformation Practice.
Western Australian Managing Partner Michael McNulty said the seven new partners span a diverse range of industries in both the public and private sectors.
“Deloitte will continue to invest heavily in WA, reinforcing our confidence in the market and future growth opportunities in the mining and oil and gas sectors, in addition to working with the State Government to drive service delivery reforms across the public sector," he said.
“With Deloitte Private launching a local team in WA in June 2013, we have added two additional partners to further build Deloitte’s capabilities in the private and mid-market sectors in Western Australia.
“We also continue to build capability in our consulting practice, in particular in Human Capital and Enterprise Information Management. Across all industries, the pace and scale of digital disruption and the transformation of organisations needed to create value and competitive advantage has been a key focus for Deloitte and our clients, whether in senior management, on Boards or within Government departments and agencies.
“A new Research and Development (R&D) Tax partner has also been added to the Perth practice to support the rapid growth of this practice over recent years,” he said.
Deloitte has invested in the ongoing digitisation of services and processes, with better access to advanced analytics, online portals and dashboards able to facilitate the streamlining and automation of cloud-based accounting and other services. This is being supplemented by advisory services, delivering far better quality financial, customer and economic insights.
“While I am delighted that our investments in analytics, technology and economics in recent years correctly anticipated the market’s growing appetite for these skills, the Western Australian economy continues to rapidly restructure, placing pressure on public, private and not-for-profit organisations to transform and meet the challenges of future growth and optimising operational performance.
“Our latest Building the Lucky Country report: Positioning for prosperity? Catching the next wave, identified the economic growth potential (in addition to mining) that businesses such as ours should be harnessing to drive our future growth. Many of these are particularly important for the Western Australian economy.
“These economic insights only reinforce the importance of understanding which sectors of the economy will experience the highest growth and momentum in future years and why our focus has been on building capability in a range of key areas to effectively service these sectors.
“Deloitte’s philosophy has always been that preparedness beats prediction and this means making the right investment choices in people and practices that are best able to leverage the profitable growth that is possible in this state.
“In recognition of Deloitte’s continued growth in the WA marketplace, we also look forward to moving to the new tower under construction at Brookfield Place in late 2015, which will provide the flexibility to grow to meet business demands in the future,” Mr McNulty said.
