Virtual Office: Welcome to Phy-gital

Almost overnight, we find ourselves pushed into a race to re-establish where and how we work. This evolution is necessary, to ensure essential business activities can continue, whilst keeping the health and wellbeing of employees and customers front of mind. In the wake of the COVID-19 epidemic, many organisations will be reconsidering the interplay between work, worker and workplace.

One thing is for certain: the new normal will see more people working flexibly and so we need to become experts in virtual ways of working - fast. But creating an environment that lets people do so requires more than the right technology – when remote work breaks down, the issue is just as often human or culture-related as it is tech-related.

This is why we launched our Virtual Office initiative which, using Human Centred Design, helped us to understand the unique challenges that people face when working out of the office. Our Virtual Office brings together the best of our people, places and technology – creating an ecosystem that empowers them to be their best selves any where, in any way, at any time.
