Our Wellness Strategy at Deloitte promotes a holistic approach which allows our people to realise their potential both personally and professionally.

At Deloitte, we have made a commitment to support our people to be their best and make an impact that matters. Workplace wellbeing is a professional imperative for us – we know that when our people are happy, they are more productive, more loyal and more likely to stay with us. But for us, wellness at work is also personal. Vitality is a core value of our CEO, Cindy Hook, and each of our leaders recognise the importance of creating a healthy, balanced, safe working environment for our people.

Wellness at Deloitte

Wellness at Deloitte provides support across four quadrants - mental, physical, emotional and spiritual. These four focus areas are designed to help each of us realise our full potential – personally and professionally. 

Spiritual Wellness: Our people feel a sense of purpose and meaning in what they do each day. 

Mental Wellness: We enable enduring mental wellness through ongoing learning, resilience and a mentally healthy work environment

Emotional Wellness: Our people feel engaged in what they do and connected to their colleagues. We support a culture of inclusiveness and respect.

Physical Wellness: We encourage and support physical health behaviours that build endurance and allow for renewal

These quadrants are inextricably linked: our goal is balance across all dimensions.  We provide a range of support for Deloitte employees across these four focus areas.  

Recent activities include partners and leader mental health awareness training, a renewed employee assistance program, a national “Step Up” challenge to increase physical health, fresh fruit and healthy breakfast and snack options, volunteering leave, Deloitte Foundation activities, a focus on defining and exploring our purpose, free wellness masterclasses and fitness classes in the workplace, increased work agility. 

Wellbeing has been incorporated into firm-wide programs from corporate and graduate induction, through to the most senior leadership programs. 

How are we doing?

We measure the impact that wellness at Deloitte is having though regular engagement surveys with our employees. Recently, we have used the newly launched Wellbeing@Work IndexTM to get a more advanced measure of the investment made across the firm in wellness to date. 

The data and insights from this report will help us to identify and understand any gaps in our wellbeing strategy, and evaluate the impact our investment in wellbeing is having. 

Our priorities in continuing to support wellbeing in our workplace will be to have employees who have a good work-life balance, good physical health, reduced stress and who enjoy coming to work. Our fundamental belief is that wellness in our workplace is a crucial aspect of enabling us to achieve our purpose; making an impact that matters to our clients, our people and our communities.
