Wrapping up the festive season
Deloitte predicts a feeling of cautious optimism in 2016 amongst retailers based on survey results of Australian retailers.
Based on a survey of executives and senior management from Australian retailers, ‘Wrapping up the festive season’ analyses their sentiment for the Christmas period, key trends and their expectations and priorities for 2016.
Eighty per cent of respondents expect sales to rise this Christmas, though profit margins will be squeezed. Whilst a third of respondents cited new product ranges, it’s telling that a quarter of retailers said customer service was their priority this Christmas.
Looking ahead to 2016, optimism continues amongst retailers, though there remains a need for some caution as we enter the new year.
