Deloitte anchor tenant for 477 Collins Street
4 May 2016: Leading professional services firm Deloitte Australia has entered into preferred party discussions with Mirvac for new premises at Olderfleet Place, the new landmark Mirvac development at 477 Collins Street Melbourne, commencing mid-2020.
Deloitte Chief Financial Officer, Andrew Griffiths said: “We are committed to providing our people with premium workspaces that foster collaboration and innovation. Deloitte’s entry into preferred party discussions with Mirvac for Olderfleet Place as its next Melbourne office is the culmination of an extensive process which included a thorough evaluation of potential developments. The project team consisted of a diverse group of experts with a focus on technology, engineering, design, talent, brand experience, finance, and facilities management. Negotiations were led by Deloitte Real Estate. A survey of Deloitte’s Melbourne partners and staff was instrumental in determining how and when people utilise office space as well as the relative importance of facilities and amenities in and around the new office. The survey results showed a desire for:
- A Premium Grade building in the heart of the Melbourne CBD
- Large and efficient floor plates that would enable custom workplace design and allow for future expansion
- The ability to adapt building infrastructure to cater for how different generations and personality types want to work privately and collaboratively
- High levels of natural light, good views and a modern fit-out that supports and promotes wellbeing
- WELL building certification (core and shell) and a high green (sustainability) rating
- First class end of trip facilities (e.g. bicycle storage and maintenance areas, washrooms)
- Close to key amenities such as food outlets, gyms, childcare, etc.
- Excellent access to public transport (particularly train stations and tram stops) and car parking within the building
- The latest technology with respect to mobile working, high level security systems, lighting, environmental monitoring, etc.
