Deloitte and The Lonsdale Group join forces

18 December 2014: Deloitte Australia announced today it will be joining forces with The Lonsdale Group (TLG), a national boutique providing consulting and advisory services for cloud based systems for the mid-market. Integration effective 2 February, 2015.

Founding TLG Directors John O’Connor and Frank Kelloway, will join Deloitte as Deloitte Private partners, along with four permanent team members located across Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. In addition the team brings an extended pool of up to 30 specialist contractors who can supplement the core team resources on an ‘as needs’ basis.

The six experts will bring specialist skills in organisational effectiveness, supply chain and procurement to Deloitte Private Advisory.

The team also brings essential skills and vendor relationships – specifically with Coupa, the fastest growing cloud procurement specialists in Europe and the USA; IBM Software Group with the globally recognised IBM Commerce and IBM Emptoris SaaS solutions and BravoSolution, a leading provider of cloud strategic sourcing solutions. This will further enhance Deloitte’s existing cloud advisory services with its strong relationships with NetSuite and Verian.

Deloitte Private Advisory leader Ben Shields believes that the popularity of the cloud is increasingly allowing small companies to successfully compete against much bigger ones.

“The cloud provides affordable access to the same rich technologies without the need to make huge capital investments on premises. This democratisation of scale is resulting in different application delivery models emerging in the way businesses operate, such as paying for cloud procurement services as required” he said.

Ben Shields added, “The combination of the Lonsdale Group and Deloitte will significantly strengthen Deloitte’s cloud advisory services for the mid-market.

The services The Lonsdale Group brings to Deloitte Private include:

  • Supply chain and procurement
  • Business process improvement
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Organisational effectiveness and change management
  • Program, project and risk management.

John O’Connor and Frank Kelloway, who will become Deloitte partners, noted that joining with Deloitte will provide their team with the opportunities to grow the business by expanding the services they can offer their clients.

“We are excited to bring the intellectual property and experience of Deloitte’s local and global business to our mid-market clients in sectors such as:

  • Sporting associations
  • Government Funded Agencies (GFA)
  • Health and Aged Care
  • Higher Education particularly in the tertiary sector
  • Mining and mining services.”

“Our people will also be able to access the benefits of being part of the global Deloitte network, an innovative brand focused on developing new products and services outside our existing consulting and advisory work, and a culture which will offer them increased opportunities for career development,” said TLG Director and founder Frank Kelloway.
