Deloitte announces two key appointments in Northern Territory
13 November 2017: Deloitte has appointed Karen Green as Managing Partner, Northern Territory (NT) and Teresa (Terri) Hart as a Director in Deloitte’s Advisory practice.
A partner in Deloitte’s Darwin office since 1999, Karen has over 30 years’ experience in the professional services industry and currently leads the Business Advisory Services and Tax businesses in the NT. She takes over the reins from Hendri Mentz following his relocation to Deloitte’s Perth office to lead their Risk Advisory business.
Karen has a deep commitment and passion to developing business in the NT. She has acted as a business advisor to numerous businesses in the Territory, advising on strategic issues including financial strategies, business plan preparation, operations and profitability improvement.
Karen also has experience in providing engagement plans, stakeholder engagement, economic development plans, strategic planning, performance improvement and change management to various government departments.
“Karen’s appointment as Managing Partner, Northern Territory adds an exciting new dimension to our Darwin and Alice Springs practices and I’m really pleased to have someone of her calibre in the role,” said Pete Forrester, Managing Partner, Markets.
“We have a strong local team dedicated to supporting local businesses, government and the NT community, and Karen will enable us to respond to the growth opportunities we see in this region.”
Terri joins Deloitte following an interesting and varied 37 years as a public servant in the NT public service. She has lived in the Territory for nearly 39 years and has extensive networks across both the public and private sectors.
Terri joined the NT Police in 1980, served as a uniform police officer for several years and later as a detective for nine years working in a criminal investigation role. She subsequently worked in the NT Public Service across four government agencies (NT Police Fire & Emergency Services as a serving officer and public servant, Department of Justice, Department of the Chief Minister, and Department of Trade, Business and Innovation).
At the Australia Day Awards earlier this year, Terri was awarded the Public Service Medal for outstanding public service to governance, planning and administration in the NT.
“Terri is highly respected in NT and brings a wealth of experience to Deloitte’s Darwin office.
Her deep knowledge of the public and private sectors gives her a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing our clients and she will be invaluable in helping both us and our clients navigate and maximise the opportunities in our region,” said Karen Green.
