Deloitte appoints Krallis to lead Sydney practice
19 March 2015: As the NSW State Treasurer celebrates the return of the Premier State’s mojo, with gross state product set to top the $500 billion mark, global professional services firm Deloitte is elevating one of its transformative leaders to the top state job in Sydney.
Eighteen year Risk Services specialist Dennis Krallis takes the baton from Deloitte’s newly appointed Chief Strategy Officer John Meacock, in order to manage its largest office in Sydney.
"It’s exciting times in Sydney,” says Krallis. “The population is pushing towards five millioni and is projected to grow to 5.8 million by 2026; the cranes dotting the skyline are testament to our robust housing and construction activity; our services industries - financial services, tourism, and education – are all seeking to benefit with parallel growth. So it is important our business sector is well advised with an eye to the future and constantly shifting nature of challenge and opportunity.”
John Meacock, outgoing Sydney Office Managing Partner and recently appointed Deloitte Chief Strategy Officer says: “Dennis is known in the business community as a senior partner with an eye to the future. He is not afraid to challenge convention, understands how to manage constant change, particularly the increasingly complex ecosystems of business. Dennis has led some of our most important alliances at Deloitte, and is an advocate of good corporate governance as an essential ingredient for efficient capital markets and investor confidence.”
Krallis says: “I will build on the strong market momentum we have, with an even greater focus on client-centricity. I’m also looking forward to developing our emerging talent as people development and mentorship are passions of mine.
“At the end of this month for instance, we will be hosting a group of around 70 under-30 year olds from 15 different Government agencies who have been nominated to attend a Sydney Government 2020 Young Professionals event. The idea is to shift the focus from ‘headlines’ to ‘trend-lines’ and encourage these digital native professionals and our own emerging talent to think about strategies for the future of NSW. Apparently I’m not allowed to attend!”
Krallis is a born and bred Sydneysider, married with two children.
Deloitte provides specialist professional services in assurance and advisory, corporate finance, tax and consulting services to the ASX 500 as well as Middle Market domestic and international clients.
