15 February 2016: Deloitte remains one of the country’s most desirable places to work for new graduates.
The professional services firm has taken out top spots at Australia’s two leading graduate employer awards ceremonies, demonstrating its continued popularity amongst graduates from a variety of disciplines, specifically accounting and financial management and now also Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
Deloitte took home five awards at the Australian Financial Review’s 2016 Top 100 Graduate Employers Awards, in association with GradConnection:
- UTS Business School Most Popular Graduate Employer Award
- Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Most Popular Employers Accounting Award
- Most Popular Employers STEM Award
- Most Popular Employers Software Engineering and Computer Science Award
- Vieple Most Popular Employers Business and Management Consulting Award
“As Australia shifts focus towards a knowledge economy, graduates continue to be a critical part of our workforce so we are delighted to have been so highly recognised by them, the future leaders of our business,” said Alec Bashinsky, Chief Human Resources Officer at Deloitte.
“In addition to our focus on top talent from more traditional commerce and accounting backgrounds, we are committed to highlighting the breadth of careers available within Deloitte for top graduate talent from STEM backgrounds.
“The rise of our Technology Consulting, Cyber Security and Data Insight service offerings and the disruption of our Audit, Advisory and Tax services, have created significant opportunities for rewarding STEM careers with Deloitte Australia.
“With this in mind, and with 25% of our graduate intake coming from STEM disciplines, we are particularly thrilled to have been acknowledged by graduates as the Most Popular STEM Employer. We pride ourselves on being an employer of choice for talented people with many different backgrounds and believe this wide range of diversity helps us tackle our clients’ most complex problems.”
Deloitte has also been ranked number one employer for accounting and financial management graduates, leading the Big Four in a GradAustralia survey of over 6,000 Australian students. The Top 100 Graduate Employers 2016, published by The Australian and shared with universities nationally to support students with their career choices, lists the most desirable employers in Australia. In addition to leading the Big Four, Deloitte was presented with an award for second most desirable organisation overall for graduates nationally, with Google taking out the top spot.
“This is the second year in a row that Deloitte has achieved these rankings, a testament to the continued emphasis we place on the value of graduate talent and the importance paid to attracting and hiring the best,” said Bashinsky.
“Deloitte is delighted to be opening applications for our 2017 Graduate Program on Wednesday 17 February, 2016. We anticipate applications from students with diverse experiences and backgrounds and encourage those who are passionate about being part of a business which thrives on innovation, collaboration and inclusion to apply.”
