Deloitte strengthens presence in Western Sydney with consulting practice
7 December 2016: Deloitte has created a new collaboration space in its Parramatta office to bring the best of the firm’s national consulting capability to the Western Sydney region, enhancing the professional service firm’s business offerings across key industries including public sector and healthcare. The move is part of a continued commitment to the growth of the region, in line with market demand.
Deloitte Western Sydney Managing Partner, Danny Rezek, said “Deloitte has an opportunity to make a significant short and long term impact on Western Sydney by enhancing the way in which we offer our services. The consulting practice joins our already established business services of tax, financial advisory, audit and advisory, Deloitte Private and Deloitte Access Economics.”
The new collaboration space allows for the best skills to be made available to solve client problems by tapping into Deloitte’s national consulting network.
“There might be a project in Western Sydney and the best person for the job comes from Brisbane or Perth, for example. They can come to Western Sydney and join our dedicated team for as long as needed. Deloitte is a national and global resource delivering locally,” said Allan Mills, Deloitte Western Sydney Consulting Lead Partner.
Public sector and healthcare is a significant area of growth in the Western Sydney region, and a focus point for Deloitte. Members of Deloitte’s public sector and healthcare leadership group will co-locate between the firm’s Sydney CBD and Parramatta offices.
Ursula Brennan, Deloitte NSW Public Sector Lead Partner, said “The move of particular government departments from Sydney’s traditional CBD to Parramatta as well as the development of healthcare precincts, such as Westmead, is indicative of the region’s growth and the importance of public sector and healthcare to Western Sydney’s future.”
As the momentum of the Parramatta office continues to grow, Deloitte will be recruiting as well as collocating more members of the leadership group. The move also improves the work-life balance of Deloitte people, with the chance to work closer to their clients and/or home.
“We are providing the latest facilities and resources in our Western Sydney office for staff and clients to use,” said Rezek. “Whether it be for working on a project based in the region, supporting clients in the area, or working remotely in order to be closer to home, the new arrangement is in line with Deloitte’s Shaping Future Cities: Designing Western Sydney blueprint - enabling people to live, work and play in the region and give back to the community.”
“Deloitte is committed to leveraging our unique presence in Western Sydney and ensuring we have the right people in the right place at the right time, to best support our clients, and in turn the growing Western Sydney community, long into the future,” said Rezek.
