19 August 2016: As businesses and government seek to deliver more services to their customers in new and innovative ways, the growth of cloud technology in Australia is likely to eclipse the $3.2bn 2020 number predicted by Forrester last year, up from $732m in 2011.
This month’s installation of cloud-based Nimble Storage infrastructure for five Victorian councils by Deloitte Consulting is just one example of the better performance, simpler operations and management processes, and in particular greater capacity and scale, that cloud-based solutions can provide, Deloitte Consulting Cloud and Infrastructure partner Josh Rubens said.
He explained: “The insights derived from the enormous amount of data that needs to be stored, cleansed and sorted to meet even the minimum needs of today’s demanding customers demand new ways of organising the technology infrastructure stacks.
“Data centre modernisation initiatives are becoming the first part of the transformation journey and in this case Nimble Storage played a key part."
