Nominations open for Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Awards
1 August 2019: Nominations are officially open for Deloitte’s critically acclaimed Technology Fast 50 Australia program.
Now in its 19th year, the Tech Fast 50 program has seen ambitious companies rise through the ranks and become internationally recognised brands, including Atlassian, Afterpay, Prospa, Vocus Communications, Vinomofo, Next DC and many more.
Deloitte Private Partner and Tech Fast 50 program leader, Josh Tanchel, said: “Year after year we are blown away with the talent that comes through this program. We’ve seen a number of tech companies grow from backyard operations into powerhouse companies, and it’s a real pleasure and privilege to be part of that process.
“The 2018 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Australia Awards included world leaders in software development, sports science, health, business IT and innovative retail concepts, ranging from high end fashion to one woman’s remarkable story of developing a technology solution for women’s sanitary wear.
“Australia is home to the very best tech talent, and we’re seeing a lot of our home-grown businesses launch into the global network. The Tech Fast 50 program gives fast growing tech companies the opportunity to take the next step, and turn up the dial on their transformation journey.”
For the first time in Tech Fast 50 history, a new award category will be introduced: Tech Fast Female. This category is for companies that make the Tech Fast 50 list, which are founded or co-founded by a female(s), or have a female CEO.
“There are so many talented women in the tech industry – so we thought it was about time they were recognised.”
Mr Tanchel said nominations close on 30 September and businesses should start preparing their applications now.
“If you’re a fast-growing tech company with big dreams, or you know a company that would be perfect for this program, I encourage you to throw your hat in the ring and spread the word.” Mr Tanchel said.
Last year’s Technology Fast 50 winner – Afterpay Touch Group
Afterpay Touch Group took out both the Technology Fast 50 and the Technology Fast 50 Leadership awards in 2018 – testament to its impressive growth and continuing trajectory of success.
Mr Tanchel, said: “Winning both awards from such an outstanding field of Australian business innovators was a remarkable achievement.
“Afterpay recorded revenue growth of 8,134% over the last three years, one of the strongest results we have seen in the history of Tech Fast 50. This company is a genuine success story for Australia and it is also a reminder of how Fintech’s are changing the way we pay for goods and manage our finance.”
About the Deloitte Technology Fast 50
The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Australia is a unique platform that recognises and profiles fast growing technology companies – in any sector. Now in its 19th year, the program ranks the 50 fastest growing public or private technology companies, based on percentage revenue growth over three years.
Sponsored by ASX, DLA Piper and NAB, the program not only celebrates the success of Australia’s fastest growing technology companies, but provides opportunities to connect with potential investors, and helps put them on the map – both domestically and globally. And by making Australia’s top 50, companies are automatically nominated for the Deloitte’s Asia Pacific Technology Fast 500.
The Award categories are:
- Tech Fast 50 – highest ranking growth company based on more than $8 million in revenues over the last three reporting years
- Leadership – for companies with more than $50 million in revenues in the last reporting year
- Rising Star – for fast growth businesses that have been in operation for less than three years
