Coalition Government returned: tax agenda

Tax insights

Following the election and pending final vote counting, it is expected that the Coalition, under Prime Minister Scott Morrison, will return to government in the 46th Federal Parliament.

Whilst the Labor Party took an extensive array of tax and tax-related policies to the election, the Coalition’s tax agenda was less expansive. The Coalition will focus on personal income tax cuts, continued support of small business and reintroducing a number of tax related Bills that lapsed when the election was called.
