Tax insights

On 27 July the Government introduced legislation1 to exempt from fringe benefits tax, the use, or availability for use of certain cars that are zero or low emissions vehicles.

On 18 July the Minister for Home Affairs made a Notice of Intention to Propose Customs Tariff Alterations (No. 6) 2022 to advise that the Government would be reducing the rate of customs duty to zero, for certain electric vehicles.
