Deloitte predicts that the rechargeable, lithium ion (Li-Ion) battery technology used in all smartphones will improve only modestly in 2015.

Executive summary

In 2015, Deloitte predicts that the innnate capacity of a device of a given size battery will change by less than 5 percent; however Deloitte also predicts that the number of times a device can be used in a day, and the range of activities it can be used for, will increase. Deloitte also forecasts that the number of public charging units will increase by over 10%, and that the standard first world greeting when going to someone's house will be extended to "WiFi password, can I charge my phone and hello".
