“Every day at work for me is different from the previous. Whether I’m working with a financial services client to develop an enterprise data strategy, or implementing data governance capabilities in the public sector, there is always the opportunity to test new ideas, meet new people and to do things differently. In a fast growing practice and a dynamic market, there is room for everyone in our team to contribute to our practice agenda. The variety, variability and team culture that this creates keeps me challenged and excited!”
Fun fact: Now that I have two kids, I generally take a more risk-averse approach to extreme sport, but I do enjoy an adrenalin moment - my favourite of these has been sky-diving in Zimbabwe over the Victoria Falls.
Brendan Li, Senior Consultant
“When I started with Deloitte, I was worried I didn’t have enough technical knowledge and work experience but the firm’s culture of empowering and trusting people helped bring the best out of me. I was given opportunities on projects that always challenged me and expedited my learning. Over a short period of time, I found that my knowledge was growing and with that, my responsibilities increased. I now play lead roles on my project which centres on business intelligence and data governance. Working with a great team that facilitates learning keeps work enjoyable and interesting for me!”
Fun fact: I am a bit of a cricket tragic. I watch cricket, I play cricket and I started up a not-for-profit indoor cricket competition which made it to an Indian news report (NDTV). Thankfully I am a better consultant than I am a cricketer... at least I hope so!
Melissa Ferrer, Partner
“For me, the field of information management is dynamic and interesting – more and more companies are finding ways to be innovative in the way they manage and use their information. Whether it’s about applying analytics to real-world problems, personalising experiences via information or improving business efficiencies, It’s exciting to have the opportunity to shape the way information is used by our clients.”
Fun fact: I love experimental baking – taking recipes and modifying them to get interesting results!
Rebecca Weir, Senior Consultant
“One of my favourite aspects of the Deloitte experience is talent development. I constantly seek out growth opportunities aligned to my interests and target development areas, and enjoy the ongoing challenge of working in new and ambiguous environments in consulting. I value learning and working collaboratively with a diverse group of colleagues and clients, and in turn I am passionate about helping others navigate through the various challenges of working in dynamic teams and work scenarios.”
Fun fact: I am a huge Disney fan and have been to all five Disney theme parks around the world. My favourite trip yet was a Disney cruise to Alaska which combined my three favourite things: Disney, travel, and unlimited food.
Amberjit Endow, Partner
“At Deloitte, we are all about delivering world class client service – I find myself constantly working with diverse competency teams, applying the 4Ds (Design, Data, Digital and Deloitte Access Economics) and connecting with one of the biggest global networks of expertise to solve “wicked” problems for our clients. More importantly, in doing so, our people find pathways to challenge themselves, learn and develop with a view to accelerating their careers with us. I am personally very passionate about the TMT industry, a space where innovation and access to information is rapidly disrupting businesses – this constantly motivates us to be in tune with the best and latest in the world stage.”
Fun fact: I have experienced some dramatic turns in evolving my professional career – from wanting to be a tennis player (a stretch target in hindsight) to a mathematician (with an aspiration to work with NASA) to now, a very content technology management consultant.
Anna Jackson, Manager
“One of the most exciting parts of working at Deloitte is our focus on working across service lines and teams to deliver a differentiated offering for our clients. Whether it be working with Deloitte Digital to enhance the user experience of our reporting dashboards, or with Financial Advisory Services to complement our planning and consolidation system knowledge with a deep understanding of financial processes, there is a chance to learn from each engagement. Since joining Deloitte I have been afforded the opportunity to work in new Industries and to develop myself, my skills and my career through training, culture and a different way of thinking.”
Fun fact: I love to travel and I have many memorable experiences including singing in the Salzburg Dome, supporting an Aussie at Wimbledon, sailing the Whitsundays and bringing in the New Year in Times Square. Next stop Japan!
Ilario Dichiera, Partner
“The dynamic world of information management means I am never bored and always inspired to help clients with their challenges extracting value from data and technology. That might range from analytics to obtain insight from data in many non-integrated systems, to then deploying systemised reporting and dashboard solutions to measure and ultimately improve operational performance. I love that I get to work with one of the world’s biggest mining companies helping them with data and technology solutions, including world class projects like developing a technology vision and strategy, designing and implementing a whole-of-supply-chain near-real-time operations “big-screen” to improve decision-making in an integrated remote operations control centre, and standardised operational reports for their many mine sites to improve their productivity.”
Fun fact: I’m often mistaken for a local and spoken to in the native language (which I don’t speak!) when in Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece. OK I can speak a little Italian and another surprise to many is my first name is spelt with an ‘i’ followed by an ‘l’ despite how it looks on a computer screen.
