Andrew is a Principal in Deloitte’s Risk Advisory – Work Health and Safety (WHS) team. His background includes 25 years investigative experience incorporating 15 years WHS investigation with both regulatory authorities and businesses.
Andrew developed a strong grounding in investigation during service with the NSW Police as an operational police officer and police prosecutor.
That grounding provided a platform to extend his expertise into the field of WHS as Senior Prosecutor (lawyer) with a WHS regulatory authority. There he was responsible for providing advice to investigators, carriage of WHS prosecutions before courts and coronial inquests into workplace deaths.
As Principal Investigation & Learning Advisor for a global Oil & Gas company, Andrew was responsible for leading, managing, ensuring compliance with internal investigation standards and continually improving quality of WHS investigations.
As Principal and lead investigator of national WHS consultancies for over 12 years, Andrew has investigated and case managed over 50 complex workplace incidents (bullying and harassment, misconduct, dangerous occurrences, serious incidents, fatal incidents and others) on behalf of business.
Andrew is often engaged by WHS regulatory authorities to provide investigation and regulatory advisory services including secondment to a WHS regulator and appointment as an Inspector responsible for leading the investigation into a series of complex and sensitive workplace bullying and harassment complaints over a 2-year period.
