Lauren Tan, PhD
Specialist Director, Consulting
Lauren uses Design Thinking to humanise business, government and technology. As a trained visual communications designer, Lauren was more interested in the creative process than the creative output. After leading and undertaking numerous projects in various industries and sectors including Government & Public Sector, Technology Media & Telecommunications, Financial Services Industry, Consumer Products etc and seeing the profound impact human-centric design can have on people and outcomes, she wanted to share this more broadly with others.
Today, Lauren focuses on enabling others to use Design Thinking in business and government through building awareness, developing capability and a fostering a culture of design at Deloitte and among organisations who want to bring creativity and design to business.
Lauren has a PhD in Design (2012) and is a published co-author of the book Design Transitions (2013). She has presented at numerous global conferences on the topics of service design, co-design, design methodology, design education and design for social impact. She has also presented at TEDx Montreal (2010).
