Matt joined Deloitte as a partner and Chief Marketing Officer in June 2017. He leads the Marketing, Communications and Business Development team, a group of 150 marketing and creative people at the heart of Deloitte. This team is responsible for promoting and raising the eminence and profile of Deloitte, managing relationships with key clients, and contributing to winning business in the Australian, Asia Pacific and global markets.
Known for his creativity and vision, Matt has the ability to use marketing and brand to define and reinvent company personas. He is passionate about the value of new ideas. Throughout his career, he has been a pioneer in recognising the potential in what’s new, and embracing the excitement and possibilities around changing how we do things. He is looking forward to putting this vision to work on a grand scale for Deloitte and our clients.
Prior to joining Deloitte, Matt spent over 25 years as one of Australia’s foremost advertising, digital media and communications practitioners. He has worked for some of Australia’s leading advertising agencies as a copywriter, creative director, managing director, CEO and chairman. Internationally, he served on the Global Creative Board and Global Management Boards of Young and Rubicam, one of the world’s largest international advertising networks. Most recently, Matt was the Chief Brand Officer for Network Ten. In 2000, he was voted one of Australia’s top ten Creative Directors by Campaign Brief Australia. In 2007, the Australian Financial Review dubbed him one of Australia’s 50 most influential media executives. He has also received two Grand Prix Awards at the Cannes International Advertising Festival.
Matt is an expert speaker and commentator on brand and creativity and has advised leading CEOs and Boards on marketing investment strategies and building customer relationships using new media channels.
