Communication skills for Guardians of Enterprise Risk Management

"Communication Skills for Guardians of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)" is an interactive, activity-based training designed to enhance communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Strong communication skills are essential for ERM guardians— professionals in risk management, internal control, internal audit and others —as their effectiveness heavily depends on clear and impactful communication.

Upon completing this training, ERM professionals will gain greater self-confidence and the ability to apply collaborative communication approaches, fostering win-win outcomes in their engagements.

Block 1 – Emotional Intelligence (EI) in business
• What is EI, and why is it important in the business world?
• How do the four components of EI—self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and social skills—apply to professional settings?
• What triggers my emotional responses, and how do they affect my decision-making and interactions?
• How can I develop greater emotional resilience in challenging situations?
• How can I use EI to inspire, motivate, and influence others effectively?


Block 2 – Present with Confidence
• How to prepare for a presentation and create powerful content.
• How to articulate issues, risks, and solutions with confidence, building trust among stakeholders.
• How to gain support for your initiatives.


Block 3 – Enhance Collaboration Across Team and Functions
• How to communicate complex ideas, assessments, risks and other concepts in a way that non-experts can understand.
• How to communicate effectively to collaborate and align efforts across functional teams.
• How to advocate for the importance of your ideas to encourage proactive engagement.


Block 4 – Negotiate and Influence
• How to influence stakeholders to adopt your vision, new procedures or change employees’ behaviors.
• How to advocate for necessary actions and gain buy-in.
• How to resist manipulation effectively.
• How to manage difficult conversations.


All blocks consist of 20% theory, focused on explaining effective techniques, and 80% well-designed practical exercises. By adopting a practical approach, this training empowers professionals to communicate with clarity, confidence, and purpose, thereby enhancing interpersonal interactions, professional relationships, and overall leadership skills.

Length of the training: 16 hours
Language: ENG / RUS
Note: Training sessions will be held in the English or Russian whereas presentation files are prepared in English.
Participation fee per individual: AZN 1000 (VAT excluded)
