Deloitte named to Universum’s ‘World's Most Attractive Employer’ rankings

Survey of business students from around the world rank Deloitte one of the most desirable companies for the 10th consecutive year

NEW YORK, NY, 19 September 2018–Universum, in partnership with CNN Money, has named Deloitte to its 2018 “World's Most Attractive Employer” rankings, a list of the top 50 most desirable workplaces for business students entering the workforce. This year, Deloitte ranks fourth on the list, climbing two places from a year prior.

The “World's Most Attractive Employer” rankings are drawn from a survey of nearly 230,000 respondents on what attributes they find most desirable in an employer. Business students in the world’s 12 largest economies evaluated companies based on 40 characteristics key to their employment decisions.

“Deloitte is honored to be ranked among the most desirable places to work. We are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, agile workforce to meet the needs of tomorrow,” says Michele Parmelee, Deloitte Global Chief Talent Officer. “At the heart of the Deloitte talent experience is a desire to ensure all of our people have meaningful work aligned with their personal values, along with opportunities for personal and professional growth and impact”.

As a leading professional services network globally, Deloitte considers its people to be its most important strategic asset. Deloitte’s talent strategy, therefore, has been designed to attract and retain the world’s brightest talent through programs and processes that advance inclusivity, diversity, flexibility, work-life balance, and well-being in all its forms.

Deloitte’s dedication to attracting, retaining and developing the very best global leaders, at all levels across the network, is further illustrated by its investment in its network of Deloitte University (DU) centers around the world. Through DU, Deloitte professionals advance their careers and participate in business leadership development programs in a world-class learning environment that inspires them to be their best.

In FY2018, Deloitte doubled down on its talent investment and increased its impact by delivering the DU experience to more than 90,000 professionals and designating Deloitte’s seventh DU location, in Mexico City.

To be considered for the “World's Most Attractive Employer” rankings, a company must rank in the top 90 percent of employers within at least six of the 12 largest economies in the world, weighted by GDP.

About World’s Most Attractive Employers Ranking

The results of the World’s Most Attractive Employers survey are based on the responses of 228,910 business and engineering/IT students from the 12 largest economies in the world (Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Russia, South Korea, the UK, and the US). To be considered, companies must be ranked among the most attractive employers (Top 90% of the Universum Ideal Employer Ranking) in at least 6 of the 12 markets. Results are weighted by GDP, so that a high ranking position in the US has a greater influence than a high ranking position in India, for example. This year’s survey was conducted from October 2017 to April 2018, reaching 110,843 business students and 118,067 engineering/IT students.
