Deloitte’s 17th Global Chemicals Think Tank will focus on the following sessions:
Data science: Today’s companies are faced with the challenge of how to find value and opportunities for the endless amount of data they own. This session will discuss strategies how to put the data to work and share case study examples how companies are tackling this enormous challenge. |
Smart investment: As companies develop their growth strategies, they often are faced with the conundrum of making smart portfolio decisions. This session will share insights into what trends are driving portfolio changes and examples of how companies have made smart investments to drive value across their organization. |
Future of mobility: With the inception of electric vehicles, autonomous driving, and road sharing, the future of mobility is quickly changing. Deloitte studies the many trends that are impacted by mobility changes including the materials that are used in the manufacturing of an automobile (e.g. plastics, paints, coatings, battery technology, steel, to name a few). This session will focus on how the dynamics of materials will change, as mobility needs evolve. |
Smart cities: As the dynamics of cities shift and single-family homes in the suburbs are not as attractive as they once were, the evolution of way businesses thrive and the way people live is driving significant change. Deloitte studies the end-to-end value chain of the issues that are influencing smart cities/house construction including the building material that is used for efficiency, sustainability, and durability. This session will discuss how the trends of smart cities are driving the need for more innovative materials with better functionality. |
Smart materials: Did you know that 96% of all manufacturing goods include materials from the chemical industry? Yet, today’s consumers are demanding materials with better functionality, lighter-weight, and advanced capabilities, creating a competitive business environment. This session focus on how companies are designing their products with smarter materials, while driving an innovation agenda. |
Factory of the future: Today’s manufacturers are using robotics, sensors, artificial intelligence, and other exponential technologies to run their factories. These modern facilities can capture data, quickly understand inefficiencies, and make smart operational decisions to run a seamless supply chain. This session will share insights into innovative factories and how they are using technologies to advance their products. |
