2017 was a strong year for the world economy, in particular for many European economies which grew at their fastest rate in a decade. Given that the economic data for the first quarter of 2018 sent mixed signals, will an upswing continue throughout the year?

Chief Financial Officers have their finger on the pulse of their companies, and thus a privileged view to provide a qualified answer. Since spring 2015, Deloitte has been collating these views of CFOs from across Europe twice a year in the European CFO Survey. How do they perceive the future? Are they planning to invest more or are they putting these plans on hold? Given today’s geopolitical and macroeconomic situation, how confident do they feel? And what risks are at the forefront of their mind?

The seventh edition of the Deloitte European CFO Survey presents the opinions of 1,652 CFOs across 20 European countries, providing relevant answer to the above questions and an ideal barometer of the European corporate sector.
