As part of an ongoing effort to foster the next generation of business and technology consulting leaders, Deloitte collaborated with SAP to host the 2016 SAP Co-Innovation Event on August 5-7 at Deloitte University in Westlake, Texas.

The event brought together 48 students from 16 universities across the United States to compete in a two-day challenge to develop real-world solutions leveraging SAP® technology. Teams included students from SAP University Alliance programs who are learning from leading business and technology curricula that incorporate SAP solutions —students who already understand the power and the potential of SAP.

The teams were put to the test, and they passed with flying colors—creating innovative, first-class solution strategies for a systems consolidation and transformation scenario. In the end, three teams walked away with prizes.

Indiana University took home the top prize, an all-expenses paid trip to an SAP conference. Saint Louis University took second place, with each team member winning a $500 gift card from Deloitte, and North Carolina State University earned third place, with team members taking home $250 gift cards.

Other teams participating in the event included:
  • Atlanta University Center
  • California State University, Chico
  • Central Michigan University
  • Delaware State University
  • Grand Valley State University
  • Missouri University of Science and Technology
  • Texas Christian University
  • The University of Oklahoma
  • The University of Southern California
  • The University of Texas at Austin
  • The University of Texas at Dallas
  • Villanova University
  • Virginia State University

This year marks the second year Deloitte has hosted the event, which we consider an investment in the future. The SAP Co-Innovation Event offers students practical experience and a strong sense of the value we at Deloitte deliver to our clients every day—insights that will help shape the futures of these emerging leaders.
