Meet Piet Vandendriessche

CEO Deloitte Belgium

Piet Vandendriessche is the Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte Belgium. He first took up the position on 1 June 2016. Deloitte Belgium is a partnership with 170 partners and more than 3,200 employees, operating in offices across Belgium.

As Belgian CEO, Piet leads and manages the Executive Committee and sets the strategic direction of the firm. He is also a member of the Board of DTTL Global and of the Deloitte EMEA Council.

Prior to becoming CEO, Piet was the Managing Partner of Deloitte Tax and Legal Belgium. Starting in this post in January 2008, he led and managed the Tax & Legal department, a practice that grew to over 50 partners and more than 700 employees. Before that he was the Belgian Indirect Tax Leader and also served for five years as the Global Managing Director – Indirect Tax, DTTL. After starting his career at Arthur Andersen in 1988, he became a tax partner specialising in international tax with a strong focus on indirect tax. From April 2013 to December 2015 he also served as EMEA Regional Tax and Legal Managing Director.

Piet was a member of the Belgian Institute of Tax Advisors and the Belgian branch of IFA, and a former member of the VAT Expert Group at the European Commission. For many years he was a guest lecturer at the University of Leuven and in 2014 became a recognised lecturer.

Piet holds a degree in law from the University of Leuven, as well as a degree in tax law from the Fiscale Hogeschool in Brussels.

Piet comes from Roeselare, Belgium. He has a wife and three daughters. Along with his native Dutch he speaks fluent French and English.
