Rik Vanpeteghem - CEO Deloitte Belgium

Appointed to Regional Managing Director EMEA and member of Deloitte global Executive Committee

Brussels, 8 January 2016 – Rik Vanpeteghem, CEO of Deloitte Belgium, has been appointed Regional Managing Director (RMD) EMEA and member of the global Executive Committee of Deloitte. He will combine his current position as CEO of Deloitte Belgium with his international positions. In his new role, Rik Vanpeteghem will be responsible for the geographical dimension of Deloitte’s global strategy and will represent the interests of the EMEA member firms. Moreover, he will make sure that the policies of the different member firms are sufficiently in tune with the initiatives and strategy of the international organisation Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL). 

 Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited is represented in more than 150 countries and has 225,000 practitioners. 80.000 practitioners are active in the EMEA region, Deloitte generated a turnover of US$ 11.9 billion in fiscal year 2015 (1 June 2014 – 31 May 2015). Rik Vanpeteghem will act as a key figure between the global executive leadership and the different Deloitte member firms, focusing specifically on the EMEA region. 

The RMD will co-execute the DTTL strategy in regards to the geographical dimension of their respective region. Next to that, the RMD watches over the cooperation among Member Firms, the standardisation, the safeguarding of quality and the investment policy within the network. The RMD plays a key role in delivering our broader DTTL vision and strategic priorities through their active participation on the global Executive Committee and the DTTL Operations Committee. 

Rik Vanpeteghem explains: “In my new position as RMD EMEA, I will represent the views of large and small member firms in the EMEA region. Both Deloitte Belgium and myself have always made a positive contribution to the international network in the past. We are therefore known as reliable partners who share their ‘state of the art’ expertise with colleagues and clients alike.” 

The appointment is a fine recognition for the prominent role that the Belgian firm plays in the international network.
