Coach of the Belgian Red Lions
Passionate about field hockey, New Zealand coach Shane McLeod was the International Hockey federation coach of the year in 2017 and 2018 for his dedication with the Belgian field hockey team. In 2018, he led the Red Lions to its current World Champions status.
Belgian Composer - Conductor
Born in Ghent, conductor and composer Dirk Brossé is currently Music Director of the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia and of the Ghent Film Festival. During his career, Brossé has conducted international orchestras, both at home and abroad.
Former CEO Atlas Copco & Chairman Ericsson
Ronnie Leten was the president and CEO of Atlas Copco from 2009 to 2017. In 2013, he was rewarded with the title of ‘Manager of the Year’ in Belgium. Presently he is the Chairman of Ericsson, Epiroc, and Piab. Epiroc is a newly created listed company, previously the Mining and Rock business area from Atlas Copco. Piab is a private company, providing smart solution for the automated world. In 2019, UHasselt awarded Leten with an honorary doctorate.

Jozef Konings obtained his PhD in Economics at the London School of Economics in 1994, where he was a student of Nobel prize winner Christopher Pissarides. Konings’ research focuses on firm competitiveness, international macroeconomics, and micro drivers affecting macroeconomic fluctuations.
