As a diverse and inclusive organisation, we can better serve all of our stakeholders. A good balance of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, but also academic background and personality enables us to achieve more together.
It improves decision-making, makes us more innovative, enhances employee engagement, provides our clients a wider range of skills, and further boosts our contribution to the communities that we work and live in.
At the end of the 2021 fiscal year, our Deloitte Belgium headcount reached 4,646 (more than 5,100 as of September 2021), with a gender split of 45% female and 55% male. And of that total, 24% (around 1,100) of our people received a promotion. In addition, we’re proud to have 72 nationalities represented throughout our Belgian organisation.
During 2021, we welcomed 1,065 new hires to our company, of which 23% of those new joiners have a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) profile and 17% have an international background.
We continue to invest in the continuous learning and development of our people, reaching 133,836 training hours during the previous fiscal year, and with 314 employees currently enrolled in our prestigious Deloitte University programme.
"We keep on building our simply irresistible organisation, even in these unprecedented times. Our values remain our compass and we took a people-first approach focusing on physical and mental well-being."
