I am driven by challenges and opportunities. In my spare time I manage two small companies, so providing input to successfully launch an early-stage business concept was a great thrill.

Why did you make it happen?

Certables was like a raw diamond that could benefit from additional cutting and polishing to be successfully launched.

I am driven by challenges and opportunities. In my spare time I manage two small companies, so providing input to successfully launch an early-stage business concept was a great thrill.

I assessed the project feasibility for the business idea owner and recommended we identify the market potential, re-think the offerings, and tackle the commercialisation of Certables nationally and, if possible, internationally.

What were the challenges?

I had to determine whether the business concept was feasible or not. But, once that was done, the main challenge was to convince the business idea owner that the business concept was not yet ready to go to market, which I did.

What has been the highlight so far?

After the business concept had been developed further, Certables' potential was noticed by one of Belgium's largest retail players. Once the contract had been signed, the platform generated 800 new users, a key factor for the successful launch. It gave me a boost that my advice was spot on.

What have you learned?

As early-stage business concepts come into the acceleration phase, the business idea owners need to remain focused and motivated for the successful launch. It is my duty to guide, support, challenge and motivate them from start to finish.
