1.     Reducing administrative burden for EU businesses
DG Enterprise and Industry

The European Commission launched a programme to measure the costs associated with EU legislation, develop burden-reduction proposals and identify strategies to implement changes. A Deloitte team, as part of a consortium, helped develop a structured project plan for the 27 EU Member States that mapped, measured and reduced administrative costs. Chief among the findings was that a 25 percent reduction of administrative burden would amount to some €25 billion in cost savings for businesses.

2.     Digital entrepreneurship study
DG Enterprise and Industry

Deloitte conducted a study to provide a better understanding of how new information technology developments are transforming the global business landscape, what the new way of doing business in the Digital Age will be and how to promote digital entrepreneurship.

3.     The functioning and usability of the Points of Single Contact
DG Internal Market & Services

Points of Single Contact (PSC) are governmental portals for entrepreneurs. Deloitte conducted a study to assess the impact that the PSC had on the provision of eGovernment services to businesses in the EU. The assessments were carried out across all 27 Member States (before the accession of Croatia).

4.     Study on SME lending data
DG Enterprise and Industry

Data collection methodologies and statistics on bank lending to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) are numerous and difficult to compare, despite the fact that SMEs represent 99% of all EU companies. Deloitte undertook a study to better understand the current access to finance for SMEs and to formulate recommendations to improve the evaluation, collection and monitoring of SME lending data for the European Commission’s future use.

5.     Communication campaign of digital entrepreneurship
DG Enterprise and Industry

Deloitte, together with co-partners, will design and rollout a pan-European communication campaign targeting digital entrepreneurs, whilst also designing and running a pan-European e-mentoring system.
