bpost and the City of Brussels have decided to collaborate in the divestment of their respective surface areas in the Munt Building. A transparent market consultation procedure has been launched in this context by Deloitte and Laga.
Divestment of the Munt
bpost and the City of Brussels have decided to collaborate in the divestment of their respective surface areas in the Munt Building. This collaboration has been contractually formalized and approved by the City Council on the 5th of February 2018.
The building is located on boulevard Anspach 6, above the ‘De Brouckere’ metro station and other means of transportation and is surrounded by three public parking options.
The boulevard Anspach itself has been converted into a pedestrian area in 2015 and is currently subject to a profound remodeling program that has started in 2016 and will be completed by 2019.
Connected to the Munt Square, the Stock Market (Bourse/Beurs), the Rue Antoine Dansaert and the pedestrian Rue Neuve and in direct vicinity of the historical Grand Place, the Munt is and will further grow as one of the most desirable locations of the Brussels Centre area.
The contemplated transaction will consist of:
- the sale of the respective surface areas of the sellers;
- a partial lease-back operation in the Munt or a partial swap-operation in/nearby the Pentagone office district for bpost;
- a temporary occupation agreement for the City until the move to the Brucity.
The transaction will take the form of a transparent market consultation procedure. bpost acts as the leading authority for the transaction while ensuring continuous transparent communication to the City.
Deloitte and Laga have been appointed as exclusive advisors in this transaction.
