How to operate VAT in a digital age?

Belgium Tax Dbriefs

04 May 2022 | Deloitte Zaventem, Gateway building | 09:00 am - 11:00 am

Why participate?

The European Commission has launched its “VAT in the Digital Age” action plan. This plan will result in legislative changes with the aim to reduce the VAT Gap and will impact existing tax compliance and reporting requirements for all businesses. The action plan covers the following main topics:

  • VAT reporting obligations and e-invoicing
  • Single EU VAT registration
  • VAT treatment of the platform economy

The continuous digitalization of the Tax Authorities (both in VAT and Customs) will push companies to invest in efficient and automated reporting tools and controls. It will also require companies to be agile in terms of people, technology and processes.

During an interactive session we will discuss:

  • explain what can be expected from the EU Commission’s initiative;
  • provide insights on local country evolutions;
  • what could it mean for your business;
  • interact on challenges and solutions and capture your input on this;
  • demonstrate how technology can help you in preparing for the ‘Digital Age’ through several demos of existing solutions and tools

This interactive session will be followed by a lunch and the opportunity to network.

After this session we will invite you for a follow-up webinar to discuss the lessons learned and the results of our benchmark based on your input during our interactive session.
