Igotz Aubin is a seasoned actuary with extensive experience within the European Property and Casualty (P&C) (re)insurance industry. He developed a thorough understanding of P&C (re)insurers operations over his 18 years of experience in industry and consulting roles engaging with executive individuals.
Director at Deloitte Belgium since 2017, Igotz is responsible for financial and actuarial risk advisory services for insurance clients, with a primary focus on P&C business. Prior to that, Igotz was leading the finalisation and implementation of Solvency II for the European insurance industry 2014-2017 in his former role as Head of Prudential Regulation at Insurance Europe, the European federation of (re)insurers, over 2014-2017. Specifically, he voiced industry concerns to EIOPA on a broad range of Solvency II areas including methodologies on risk-free interest rates terms structures and particularly the ultimate forward rate.
Before that, Igotz worked for a wide range of firms (insurers, reinsurers, reinsurance broker, consultancy) where he held responsibilities for underwriting, actuarial (pricing, reserving, regulatory capital using an internal model), cat risk modelling, and enterprise risk management activities.
Igotz has a MSc in Actuarial Science (France) and is a fellow actuary from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA, UK), the Institute of Actuaries in Belgium (IA|BE, Belgium) and the Institut des Actuaires (IA, France). He is a member of the International Actuarial Association (IAA). Igotz holds an MBA from the Henley Business School (UK).
