DIVE into a virtual business experience!

Testimonials from Deloitte's International Virtual Experience program

Our DIVE participants across the Caribbean and Bermuda region share their experiences and perspectives about the program.

This year’s program had 32 participants from across the Deloitte Caribbean and Bermuda region who were chosen to work on 5 unique projects developed by Deloitte CBC Leadership. Participants had the opportunity to get one on one time with their coaches who guided them over the course of 5 weeks on overcoming real world challenges to complete their projects. We invite you to view the perspectives (in random order below) of some of our DIVE participants.

Jessica Mihelcic

Why did you choose Deloitte?

The DIVE project was one of the reasons why I was interested in Deloitte as it put into practice what I had read about when researching Deloitte’s culture of inclusion and collaboration.

What was the highlight of the program?

By working with various interns and coaches across the CBC, I gained an insight as to how Deloitte places importance on providing their interns with the best well-rounded experience they can by incorporating different employees from various departments.

What sets Deloitte apart from other internship?

Personally, I experienced this with my coach on my project. I found that my coach was extremely open to not only make time for questions I had about the project and Deloitte but also about the industry and her past experience and expertise. I feel that this would have been difficult had we not established a connection through the DIVE project.

What is your biggest lesson learnt from the DIVE program?

I believe that DIVE has not only helped me during my time here at Deloitte but will also help in my academic life as well. The skills that I have developed through the DIVE project will transfer into other facets whether it be working in teams in the future or creating detailed and cohesive presentations.

What advice would you give to future DIVE participants?

For the future I would suggest placing more time at the beginning to get to know other group members as sometimes I felt it was hard to know where to start if you are unware of what others like to do and their strengths during a group project.

Why did you choose Deloitte?

I chose Deloitte because of the many opportunities they provide and the eagerness to inspire and develop young talent.

What was the highlight of the program?

Becoming a Deloitte intern is one of the best things that have happened to me. Being able to learn and develop new skills that would help in my future, as well as the benefit of being hands on with the work has impacted my view on the business industry.

What is your biggest lesson learnt from the DIVE program?

The chance to work with other interns throughout the CBC gives us interns a chance to make connections outside of home country. I think this aspect of the DIVE program is crucial and a very important part of the program as it has given me insight as to how members within the various CBC firms team up for jobs and communicate with each other.

Why did you choose Deloitte?

I chose Deloitte because of their high standing within the global community; the opportunity to have the chance to travel after completing my CPA is very important to me.

What sets Deloitte apart from other internship?

Their reputation and character is one that stood out to me when compared to other big four companies.

What is your biggest lesson learnt from the DIVE program?

The DIVE program helped to teach me to connect and work with other interns from different time zones and across the CBC network.

What challenges did you face in the program?

It was difficult to manage each other’s schedules in order to create weekly calls that work for everyone, but the experiences gained from this will be of great value in the future.

Why did you choose Deloitte?

The DIVE program provided me with a lot of knowledge and information that I can use in future endeavors with school and when pursuing my career.

What was the highlight of the program?

It was nice to work with people from different countries, I have not really been given an opportunity to do something like this before.

What is your biggest lesson learnt from the DIVE program?

It lets you see that people from different countries do not really do their work much differently.

What challenges did you face in the program?

At first, it was hard to talk with each other in skype meetings because we did not really know each other in but after a while, it became easy and natural.
