Are technologies such as cloud and Robotics Process Automation disrupting traditional outsourcing strategies? Our outsourcing survey of more than 500 executives from leading organizations examines the state of transformation in outsourcing market and explores three key trends:
- Outsourcing is enabling competitive advantage. While cost optimization is still a critically important criterion for outsourcing, it is no longer at the top of the list (nor even in the top five).
- Organizations are embracing disruptive solutions such as cloud and Robotic Process Automation (RPA). The vast majority of organizations are considering or adopting cloud and RPA solutions and believe their service providers have a reasonable or advanced ability to implement disruptive solution.
- There are real challenges with adopting disruptive solutions. Data migration, security requirements, organizational resistance, and highly fragmented processes are few examples of common challenges.
