Blaire's Deloitte experience

How would you describe your Talent Experience working at Deloitte?

Career Progression - When I first started at Deloitte full-time, I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted my career path to be. In my first year, I was able to explore various service lines within Risk Advisory, which helped me discover my passion for enterprise risk management (ERM) and internal audit. Now that I’ve solidified my interests, my coach, manager and partner make it a priority to provide opportunities aligned with my passions to ensure I gain valuable experience and stay fulfilled.

Well-Being - I joined my office’s Well-Being Committee as a way to stay committed to my fitness goals and healthy lifestyle, and to find unique ways to engage my colleagues to do the same. Our firm’s leadership has also demonstrated their commitment to our holistic well-being by enthusiastically supporting our well-being initiatives, such as yoga and cardio workouts, mental health workshops and much more. Deloitte recognizes that in order to deliver my best, I have to feel my best.

Learning - Continuous learning is one of my personal values, and is a huge part of my experience at Deloitte. Whether it’s through in person workshops, virtual calls, periodic thoughtware, or self study through Cura, I’m always learning something new that I can apply in my role. Another key element of my learning is collaborating with subject matter experts across the Deloitte Global network, which enables me to tap into a wealth of knowledge for my engagements.

How do you connect your personal purpose to Deloitte’s purpose?

My personal purpose is using my creativity to drive positive transformation and to empower others to unlock their full potential, which directly correlates to Deloitte’s purpose of making an impact that matters. In my role as a Risk Advisory Senior Consultant, I view each engagement as an opportunity to provide invaluable insights and tools that help my clients solve complex problems.

What’s been the most interesting, challenging, or surprising about your role within Deloitte?

The most surprising thing about my role within Deloitte has been the level of trust and freedom leadership has given me to develop and execute my own ideas, in regards to both client engagements and business development. I feel like my perspective is valued and respected.

How has Deloitte invested in you as a leader?

Deloitte has helped me grow as a leader in numerous ways. Recently, I attended a Deloitte workshop on personal branding and leadership in celebration of International Women’s Day, where I connected with other female leaders and left with a boost of confidence. As a consultant, I was consistently encouraged to lead client meetings and internal discussions, which prepared me for my new role as senior consultant. As a senior, I’ve also been given the opportunity to speak at industry events to build eminence and expand my network.

Why did you choose to work in Deloitte CBC region?

I chose to work in the Deloitte CBC region to make a positive impact on the Bahamian community.
