2023 Global Human Capital Trends report
New fundamentals for a boundaryless world
Work boundaries that were once assumed to be the natural order of things are falling away as disruption and discontinuity challenge traditional models and assumptions. To navigate this boundaryless world, organizations and workers will need to work together to create a new set of fundamentals.
The traditional boundaries that established how work gets done are evaporating. Work can no longer be organized into siloed processes. Jobs can no longer be wholly contained or categorized within an organization. Work no longer occurs only within the four walls of the workplace. And organizations can no longer center their decision-making on their shareholders and the bottom line.
Our recent report, 2023 Global Human Capital Trends: New fundamentals for a boundaryless world, highlights the need for organizations and workers to work together—to think like researchers as they learn, adapt, and improve their processes and outcomes, to cocreate working relationships and how work will be done, and to prioritize human outcomes to create a clear, collective purpose.
Deloitte’s 2023 Global Human Capital Trends survey polled 10,000 business and HR leaders across every industry, with 105 countries participating. The survey data is complemented by interviews with executives from some of today’s leading organizations that have shaped the trends in this report.
